Windows 10 - Client Adapter Metric not sticking to the NIC

Post by acampeau » Wed Aug 16, 2017 12:52 am

Hi,

Am-I the only one who's having issues with Softether's Windows 10 network adapter? On the client side, the metric doesn't seems to stick to the adapter after it receives the IP from the VPN's DHCP, which worked well in Windows 7.

Here's my example :
Intel NIC : Internet access, metric 10
VPN1 nic : Not yet connected, metric 20
VPN2 nic : Not yet connected, metric 21
VPN3 nic : Not yet connected, metric 22

When I connect the 3 vpns, one the adapter randomly gets the Internet access priority (even over my Intel NIC). When I go to see the metrics, the metric checkboxes in the NIC's ipv4 settings have been reset to auto..!

If I set the metric after the connection, it just won't apply after a up/down of the interface which reset's the metric..

Does anyone have a workaround for this?

Thanks a lot!
