Yesterday I installed the VPN and all almost worked okay. I have two issues.
1- When I am connected to the VPN I can no longer receive email from my ISP COX Communications. I use MS Outlook 2010 to receive email from COX on ports 110 and 25. I have tried changing the receive to SSL, and the send to encrypt auto, doing this I can receive, but not send.
2- I use Trillian and an interface to gmail and gtalk, when the VPN is connected I get nasty messages from google that someone is trying to login in on my behalf, login blocked, google belives someone is trying to spoof my gmail account.
If I disconnect from the VPN neither works until I reboot. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Ed Abel - eabel@ox-internet.com

Re: VPN and email
You can make a routing table entry to specify the route to your mail server.
If you use Windows, command is like as following.
route -p add [mail server address] mask 255.255.255.255 [your normal gateway address]

Re: VPN and email
Ran the following:
:\Windows\system32>route -p add 68.99.120.2 mask 255.255.255.255 192.168.0.1
OK!
:\Windows\system32>route -p add 68.1.17.4 mask 255.255.255.255 192.168.0.1
OK!
First is the pop3, 2nd is the smtp
Email works, still have issues with trillian, get the following from google when I try to use my google login via trillian, not sure how trillian sends, seems to work okay if I use firefox and send email from my gmail account that way, any ideas?
