hey guys,
from what i've seen, when you connect to the softether vpn server using softether vpn client, everything works fine and all the traffic is being tunneled through the vpn connection EXCEPT:
if you tracert the vpn server's ip/address you'd see that it's still being transfered over your local router and softether vpn client doesn't tunnel it through the vpn tunnel.
in order to get what i mean:
- connect to the vpn server using softether's vpn client
- open a cmd window on windows
- type: tracert 8.8.8.8
- open another cmd window
- type: tracert SERVERIP
(instead of "SERVERIP" type the vpn server's own ip address to which you're connecting to using softether vpn client)
compare the results and you'd see that tracing 8.8.8.8 gets through the vpn tunnel but tracing vpn server's own ip doesn't and you'd see your local router/isp's router IPs one after another...
is there any way to force the vpn client to handle connections to the vpn server itself, too?
make cononnections to the vpn server get tunneled thru vpn
