Softether VirtualDHCP bind to Interface

Post by AdrianW » Sun Aug 18, 2013 9:58 am

Hello,

i need your help.
I've installed Softether at one of my VPS and tried to use it as gateway.
To use this i had to enable VirtualNAT and VirtualDHCP. After this i was able to connect to the internet with the public ip of the server - works good.

but i've got a problem - the dhcp is also assigning ip-addresses at the eth0 interface.
is there a chance to disable this / bind the dhcp to the vpn only interface ?

thank you very much
greetings
Adrian

I do not have this problem on the DS213 at my home, maybe you try the Windows version with wine because some software bug may exist with different bugs on the libraries which varies with different computer.

well, using wine on a linux server running in a datacenter is not really a choice :(

Have you mistakenly bridged the VirtualHub to the LAN adapter? You do not need to enable Local Bridge in order to use SecureNAT for using Internet in the VPN Connection.

how can i check this with the windows admin tool ?

EDIT :
ah i see that there is a "Local Bridge" between the HUB and eth0
shall i delete it and this should solve the problems ?

EDIT2 : just tried it and currently its working - just have to check if there is still the dhcp problem

However, there is another bug that the VPN Clients cannot access the server itself. I was unable to set up another vpnclient on DS213 but I am wondering if it is possible to fix it with connecting the client to the server hosted on itself and set a static IP connection with no default gateway.
