Are you talking about the VPNGate servers? Most of these servers don't work well anyway. Or did you set up your own server?

My Korean SoftEther server still runs great.

Which port are you connecting to and are you using UDP? I would stick to Port 443 TCP only since it is SSL traffic that should be undetectable by the GFW.

SoftEther for the time being seems to be one of the few remaining protocols that passes the GFW without disruption.

In China, the SoftEther VPN Client has been unable to use it as if the UDP TCP protocol included many ports that were shielded by telecommunications

You can set the client to use any TCP port. I would recommend port 443 which is commonly used for https. You can also use port 80 which is the common http port but some servers may have this port blocked. You will need to use TCP. Using UDP acceleration is an option. So unless the SoftEther server IP address is blocked in theory you should be good to go.

My SoftEther server was blocked on 3 different ports that I was using. Here is what is really weird:

1) The blockage is only on China Telecom (I tested on 2 residential connections) but it is not blocked on another China Telecom account (which was also signed up as a personal account but is in an area 3 km from my home).

2) Another port is not blocked so the blockage is port specific.

3) It is not blocked on China Mobile nor China Unicom.

So here you have it: the blockage is not by the "GFW" but by the specific ISP and in fact regional. Choosing another port solves the issue.

You may recall that there was a news article stating that the government is forcing ISPs to block VPNs so the block is ISP specific. What is also strange is that I have practically never connected to my VPN server via the China Telecom residential connections.

Can you show me where the UDP acceleration option can be turned on or off?

@lqm11,

There is no problem with vpn SE at all. I just went through some problems recently and realized SE can not be matched by anything
else! It definitelly works also in China.

I have "discovered" many routers can block vpn protocols, like Linksys. For instance openvpn, ipsec and others but they can not block
https as they would block internet - and it is the reason why they are there. If they block https protocol and port 443 you can smashed them out of the window. So if Linksys and other manufacturers and ISP providers want to get your money they MUST provide transfering https and port 443.

And here miracle starts: softether is the only vpn that has got "ethernet over https".
I was figthing with tablet and openvpn apk not connecting to se server, but from other se bridge i could!

Reason is simple: connection from softether to softether on port 443 must work everywhere. If not stop paying ISP because you have effectively no internet!

Now i am fighting with cross compilation for android linux.

I already implemented se into router A5V11, orange pi zero, ubuntu. I use it for connecting siemens plc all around the world and no
single instance occured it would not work.!

Remember: only Softether-softether is working. Using any other apk does not work as no other vpn is using https!

I heard GF want to inspect every packet. But it can not inspect softether packets.
What they fuckers do they simply do not farward packets. You need internet. But in China there is no internet.!!!
