Protocols and options

Post by ukugiiy » Mon Jan 04, 2016 7:27 am

Are connections linking from 'Softether VPN Client Manager' go through 'Softether VPN Protocol' only? There are four Protocols: https://www.softether.org/@api/deki/files/4/=1.2.jpg .

Is there any way to check privacy leak issues and assure my online browser privacy is not invaded and tracked?

In 'Help'---'About', 'Update checks' is enabled but how can I know whether my current client manager version is the most updated with https://www.softether.org/5-download? I couldn't find the current version details on its website.

As far as I know, yes the Softether client only uses 'Softether VPN Protocol'.
The other 3 protocols you see are not used by Softether client. For openVPN you would have to install and use openVPN client. For the other two, they are protocols built in certain devices and OS. Like Android device has a default (built-in) VPN client. Windows has a default one also I think, which you would use not through Softether client.

For current version, you can find it two places that I looked.
One is here.

Another is here

You can look at the dates of those links to see which is most current. Right now it is this "v4.19-9599-beta-2015.10.19-tree" at the bottom of the page, date 2015-10-19.
