SoftEther Client for OpenVPN Server

Post by gjf » Mon Apr 25, 2016 5:49 pm

Hi all!

I have tried to use SoftEther Client for already installed OpenVPN server - and no success! I'm a little bit surprised taking into account OpenVPN support was announced.

My config for OpenVPN is as follows:

client
dev tap
;dev-node MyTap
proto udp
remote gjf.abcd.net 1194
float
comp-lzo adaptive
keepalive 15 60
auth-user-pass
ns-cert-type server
<ca>
-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
MII...w=
-----END CERTIFICATE-----
</ca>
resolv-retry infinite
nobind

As you can see there is no any "Virtual Hub Name", anyway I have tried the following settings in client (attached).

Anyway connection failed, and original OpenVPN client is working like a charm in the same time.

So what is wrong?

Oh yeah, looks like the level of support is almost the same as OpenVPN compatibility :)
Taking into account the experience of testers of other claimed "features": https://habrahabr.ru/post/208782/#comment_8738737
Too bad advertisement is much better than product itself.
Uninstalling this crap.

Hi

All items from this comment are false.
Regarding your question - you can use SoftEther Client only for connection to SoftEther server using native https protocol.

Thanks
