SSL CN name mismatch error on custom server address

Post by itskv » Thu Mar 22, 2018 12:18 pm

Hi,

Using vpnazure.net server address is OK and client connects to server successfully.

Now,...
I have pointed my own sub-domain name's CNAME record to vpnazure's address so that, I can use my own domain name as server address rather than to use vpnazure's address to connect to server.

Now, the problem is, when VPN client tries to connect to my own domain name (custom.web-url.com), it fetches SSL certificate from vpnazure's domain name (because, this is how, CNAME records works). That certificate contains only *.vpnazure.net at CN field. So, VPN client is refusing connection as server address entered and address available in CN field of certificate is different (CN name mismatch).

How can I solve this issue and use my own domain name as vpn server address? Is there another way to achieve this other than using CNAME method?

Thanks in advance.
