Static routing definition (what is it?)

Post by zaf » Sat Aug 04, 2018 7:24 pm

Can the static routing table sort of tell a client to use its normal network adapter instead of the VPN? For example if i want all traffic headed for 128.42.10.133 to go through the client's regular ethernet adapter instead of through the vpn. Is that what its for?

Static routing I believe is generally used to tell One network subnet how to find and communicate with a second network subnet.
ie. network 192.168.1.0/24 has no idea where to find network 192.168.10.0/24. a static route can be set in a router to provide the path so the network can find each other.

Do you need routing on the VPN side?
If not so, please increase of the metric value of virtual NIC.
