SoftEther server as a relay server

Post by cyclops6350 » Thu Sep 13, 2018 6:38 am

How do I configure SoftEther to run as a relay server?
I don't mean the public VPN Gate servers, but a server running on my home computer that I can connect to as described under the section "Comfortable Network Anywhere" on the SoftEther Project page.

Any suggestions and tips are welcome.
Thank you for your time.

After some experimenting, I have an answer to my own post now!

Assuming that the SoftEther server software is installed in a home computer sitting behind a router. all one needs to do is to setup the server as a remote access server. Thereafter, bridge the VPN adapter with the local network adapter already in the machine (this is the one that connects to the router for internet access). After that, enable secureNat. For secureNAT configuration, disable virtual NAT, and enable virtual DHCP so connecting VPN clients can be assigned IPs.

That is pretty much it.
