Hey, try forwarding port 50 (ipsec) also make sure you're allowing for UDP as well as TCP. I was having the same issue this solved it for me.
edit: I should note however I am using an Android phone - not familiar with the IOS client.

@cybrute What you are talking about is NOT the port number 50, but protocol number 50 (ESP). See this list

@OP you need to look at the output logs of the iphone. If you have a macbook, please attach your iphone to your mac, install "Apple configurator", open the program, then go to: your phone-> console
Then initiate the connection from your phone and paste the console log result here
