So I generated a sample configuration file for OpenVPN using the Softether Server Manager
and I got the ovpn file on my desktop and I can connect to vpn using a openvpn client etc
but i have to manually enter my username & password every time, how can i save the username and password in the ovpn file? I tried the normal way by adding some text to the config file like
auth-user-pass auth.txt
and then having a text file in the same folder with the login but that didn't work
is there a special way to do this with softether generated openvpn file?
how to save login credential with Softether OpenVPN

Hi vix,
As far as I know SoftEther does not create the client CA like OpenVPN does, so the auth.file is required for auto login. Do you receive any error generate in the client side?

Which error did you receive from client side? The auth file is very simple with uname/passwd included so most of the errors happens from auth file location or auth file declaration in .ovpn file.
