Depends what you'll be doing with your VPN. If your specifically looking for a premium paid VPN provider, I'd take a look at this list: https://vpnoverview.com/best-vpn-providers/best-vpn/
You see the most important features of each provider listed there; decide what features you personally need and then I'd say any one of those providers is worth it (at least the top 4 in my personal experience, I'm steering away from PureVPN since one of their supposedly Hong Kong servers once gave me an Australian IP-address if I remember correctly, there was something weird going on at least). And IPVanish seems to struggle with Netflix-compatibility if that is what you are looking for.

You should look for the features in a paid VPN to get the best value for money. I am a PureVPN user and I love their new features which includes network level Antivirus/Antimalware, easy to use Ad Blocker and App Blocker, along with the web filter which you can customize and have control over your Internet traffic. I didn't find any other VPN service to be providing these features. You can read more on their web page:

Hey Gary. Why do you want to shift? bad service? encryption? privacy? policies? Personally, the only reason I shifted to a paid one was encryption. while most will say they're vpns, only those offering encryption act like a true vpn because anything else is a proxy and doesn't encrypt.. only changes the IP. therefore, it's useless to use iit for downloading. my needs are a mishmash of security, privacy and anonymity so i can't do without encryption. everything else, i can compromise on. also, do read their privacy policy before you buy it. you can read more on anonymity here if you'd like.

Purevpn used to support softether (not publicised) but recenlty decided to retire the last server they had due to a "lack of user usage"..

I really wouldn't use free services just because there are always agendas for the to make money from it somehow. So your information is usually unsafe and it's quite difficult for the host to really keep it FREE. It cost money to operate a server.

Just get a paid VPN that is geared toward what your using. Each VPN has their unique pros. I found some guides on

https://www.thegeekylist.com or https://topvpnguides.com

That were pretty helpful. Just look for the VPN guide, they stated what each VPN is good for like IPVanish is usually good for kodi or firesticks. then you have others that are great for torrents, etc
