Hello,
we are evaluating SoftEther VPN at the moment. We are using gateprotect UTM Firewall at our main site. We are planning to use SoftEther VPN as site to site (lan to lan) endpoint at our other sites. We also need L3 routing.
Is it possible to set up SoftEther VPN as a remote site to site ipsec vpn initiator with a foreign product like gateprotect or sophos on central site?
(Ive attached some screenshots from gateprotect IPSec wizard, if this helps)

Hi,
no, this will not work.
Softether use L2TP/IPsec with IKEv1. (Layer2 Tunnel, secured with IPsec)
gateprotect use "direct" IPsec (Layer3).

Have you looked into the EtherIP / L2TPv3 settings?
