Cascade connection architecture question

Post by RobEr7 » Fri Jan 23, 2015 11:58 am

Hi,

I have several collocation centers with more servers in each of them.
I have installed SoftEther VPN Server on one location and Bridge servers on all other locations.
Is it optimal to connect them as mesh (every Bridge server with every other bridge server & with VPN server) or as star (every Bridge server to SoftEther VPN Server)?
I suppose mesh would give the best results in regard of low latencies and roboustnes.
Any opinion?
Thanks.

SoftEther VPN is designed for a star topology.
However, mesh network can also be achieved.
If your want to make a mesh network, you should install SoftEther VPN Server in all locations.
And, apply privacy filter mode for all users that is used for cascade connection in each virtual hub.
After that, create a mesh network with cascade connection.

Hello,

I am really curious how to setup the full mesh VPN. Can you incorporate more details on how it can achieved? For instance, provide us the example.

Thank you

For instance,

I have 6 offices location and they need to be able to connect each other. Normally, you will create one location to be the hub and spoke and others need to go through it before going to other location. So, how do I create conection between 6 offices in full mesh manner.

Please see the picture on the attachment.

Thank you

I don't think the full mesh VPN is possible through softether. I tried to create 3 "triangle" connection with 3 servers through cascade they suffer broadcast storm.
