Something weird happens in Vista, where I adjust any of the networking properties, then I have to do a System Restore to a state before the software was installed, and then re-install SoftEther. Fortuntely, installation and configuration are straightforward, which allows me to get the VPN back up and running in just a few minutes if I had to restore and reinstall.

Re: Virtual Network Adapter device driver failure on Win XP
To make the problem clear, try on the clean-installed Windows XP SP3 (e.g. use another HDD as the boot-disk temporary).
