I have a problem running softether vpn within a vmware ws virtual machine with a windows 7 x64 home premium guest.
Install goes wel, running the first time also. But if I restart windows the guest machine hangs completely after restart/logon. I tried this with softether server 2.00 as wel as the latest 1.01 build.
What helps is disabling the virtual network adapter before startup en manually connect it after start/logon.
Because the final target machine for softether is also a windows home premium, but one which I can only access remote, I am hestitating to install softether there since network problems would lock me out.
Please advice or give me some support...

Did you forget to install VMWare tools in the Virtual Machine?

Perhaps you should make clean install of the Windows. Do not use the automatic installation function provided by VMWare.
If you are doing like this already in your current copy of Windows 7, I think you should try to install the server first on the target machine. Set up Administrator password and vpnazure. Then install and use the Server Manager in your own computer and connect to it by xxx.vpnazure.net and manage it remotely.
xxx.vpnazure.net not only works with SSTP, I tried and it also works for Softether VPN Client with TCP port 443 configured to connect to.

Re: Softether server in windows 7 virtual machine
I installed a fresh windows 7 home premium on a VM and afterthat Softether vpn server 2.00
Now the startup problems are gone, so I asume softether vpn server works fine with windows 7 home premium.
On the first vm I have also installed (before) openvpn with its TAP adapter.
Maybe that caused interference ?
