Poor performance-less than 1 mbps on 50 meg link

I was able to get this running fairly easily, but the performance is beyond belief.

I'm using this on a 2012R2 server running in VMware 6.0. I have promiscuous mode enabled and port forwarding from my firewall to the VPN server.

Everything connects just great, but the performance is terrible (less than 1 meg) I installed openvpn on the same server and I get over 15 meg

I'm using bridged mode and I have verified that I do not have securenat enabled

I've given it 4 gigs of ram with 4 cores.

Where do I look to find the problem?

I can't attach any files as it says the extension is not allowed. I've tried to upload it without any extension, zipping, renaming it, etc... What am I doing wrong?
