Server Configuration Not Saving/Persisting

I recently got a server installed and working. However, I have an issue with the server configuration not saving. To my knowledge, when I configure the server (in my case using `vpncmd`) the changes should be saved to my `vpn_server.config`. But this isn't the case. After setting my configuration the file remains unchanged. Is there anywhere else configuration is stored? Is there some command to flush the current server configuration to file?
As it stands if I ever had to restart my server I would have to manually reconfigure it :(
