Unable to reach Softether server via client PC

Hi!
I'm new with softether but I asume that I did every thing necessary but I can't get the client connected to the server.
1. I installed Softether server on a computer connected in a wifi box. I followed all the steps, hostname, local bridge, user creation and till the server was online.
2. I installed the client on a PC in an another wifi box(différent from the server's one), they two boxes are all connected to internet.
3. But, when I finished with the set up of the client, it didn't succeed to get connected to the server via the DDNS address..
Please how can I do to get access To the network of the server via the network of the client ?
Thanks you .

First things first....

Connect both server & client to the same wifi, or network, on the same domain, like 192,168.1.5 server, client 192.168.1.6

Then write into client ddns not vpn939e99r94.net but directly 192.168.1.5 server address -MUST WORK!

Hi!
Thanks your answer.
I doesn't help me out under the same wifi.
I'd like to connect a client remotely to a server through internet.
For a example, while out of home I'd like to get access To a local web server through my PC while I'm away from home.
Thanks for the help.

I am happy to help you! This test to "invent" took me weeks.... This should be the basic test!

There are only 2 possible problems now:
- ddns not working /not likely/
- almost sure your server is not on public ip, or port forwrds do not work

Another test invented:

Enable on server computer ssh, do not start softether
Change port 22 to 443 for ssh server
Check with whatismyip.com what is your public ip

Try to connect from different network using ssh port 443, it should work even if it is not https protocol but ssh protocoL

Routers in the way to server can bl0ck protocol or so not forward port 443

BUT what do you mean by server public IP. My vpn server is On a PC, so the PC has a private LAN IP, but the DDNS gave a public IP and DDNS hostname.
Secondly, what do you mean by port forwarding not working ? Is there a setting needed for that To make it To work ?
I don't know if my public IP is going to help, it's a wifi box(over 4g) or DSL Line connection. There is no fix public IP. Some time it's a private IP that's given by the operator.

If I understand well, It's difficult to establish remote connection without the public IP.
Thanks.

your PC with SE vpn server must be visible on internet

it means it has got one and only unique public IP address, otherwise no client will find it

OR

your server can be behind routers but then you must forward port 443 from "where it is public"
to your PC

I spent time to describe you second test but you ignore it, so I can not continue to help you
if you do not perform BASIC tests! especially when you do not understand a lot of things...

""" If I understand well, It's difficult to establish remote connection without the public IP. """ - it is not possible

Hi @sky59,
I'm sorry if you're angry.
BUT, when someone is new in a field it's not easy to catch every thing at once.
If you'd like to help, I'll be pleased but you need to be patient to teach something good.
Especially, to give time To learn and to explain thing as simple as possible so that I can understand and practice.
Thanks

I'm behind a wireless router which doesn't have a fixed public IP.
How to do port forward ?
Finally, if You can guide me step by step with more detailed instructions it'd be fine!

What is wireless router? You have probably 4G internet with wifi... it is probably a box...

Your SIM card (whatever it is, connection to ISP) must have attribute of public IP, it does not have to be a really static (fix IP), it can change everytime
you start server, but it must be unique and then DDNS in Tsukuba university gives you back actual IP address of your ISP connection - it is inside your 4G box, you have to apply at your ISP provider for this public address, it can also by dynamic public address but at any moment it is only ONE IP on whole world wide internet

then you have to log in into the box and set up forwarding port 443 to wifi, so then it looks like wifi is on public address thouhg it has private address like 192.168.1.18

I am not a teacher you have to study this , it needs time, "first step first" is finished now "step by step" ....

Thanks for your help. I'll try this one.
I got my public IP via whatismyip.com.
I configure the server by chosing the public IP as hostname and it's online but still can't get access to it.
I'll try to enter into my box's setting. Then I'll be back here ..
Thanks.

Hi!
I've been off for a while.. Now I'm back, I'm going to forward the port 443.
I'll be back to you soon.
Thanks.
