OpenVPN without certificates

Hi,
I'm trying to setup my SoftEther VPN server to be able to accept OpenVPN connections from clients.
The problem is, even with the option in the .ovpn file, I still get the
Is there any way to setup SoftEther so that it accepts OpenVPN connections without certificates and keys?
If that's not possible, does anyone have a tutorial/guide on how to create these certificates and keys? I tried using the XCA Windows app but I get all sorts of TLS failure error messages with that.
