Windows Server 2008

Post by Renir Abreu » Thu May 07, 2020 5:56 pm

I installed SoftEther VPN in a machine running Windows Server 2008 R2 system.

After this, I installed client software in my computer running Windows 10.

When I connect to the server, I can see all the machines in but the Windows Server don´t apppear to me.

I tryed to find using \\computername but the computer is not showed.

I activated all the services needed at windows server 2008 to show it for another machines in the same network.

I´m not using Active Directory only a Groupname.

Other machines are showed for me except the server.

But, when I´m in the local network (not using VPN), the server is showed.

Can someone help-me?

It it a VM?

This problem is a limitation and dealt differently on linux platforms, but i've never seen something like that on windows.

Can you ping the host? Is the windows firewall correctly configured? Are you using securenat?
