Hello all,

I am looking for a way to connect to a SE server behind a 4G connection with an OpenVPN client, and I found SoftEther which could probably solve my problem if only I could set it up properly. I am working in a linux-only environment, and I have no GUI server manager that I can click on all available options. vpncmd is my friend, but I need help as to which options to activate to make this work.

So far, when I create the OpenVPN config zip, I can see that it points to a domain which in turn points to the CGNated IP, but it doesn't seem to traverse it. I also noted that the certificate I generated is not included in the ovpn file.

Any pointers to the right direction would be welcome.

Use windows machine with manager.
No headache

I managed to make this work:

1. activate VPN Azure
2. connect using the SoftEther VPN Client
3. user connects through the vpnazure.net link, not the softether.net one

In vpncmd:

It is tooooo slow over azure

Right. But it is the only one that can traverse carrier-grade NAT, at least with on the network I'm using. Unless you know of a way to do it with softether.net -- each time I try, it fails to connect.

If it works over azure it can work also without it.
You need public ip address on server side and correct setting like port forwarding and so on...

Because azurre is nothing else but server, in this case you do not need public ip because it is at azure

But it is slow because Tsukuma university can not serve so many connections at high speed

i completely understand that the university cannot provide a service like that.

but is there sth out there like a professional service like that.
it would also be great not to change to much :-)

i am pretty sure some people would buy the service!

btw i saw that there is openvpn relay for one user for free. but i understood that this does not work with softether.
this would be an option, i guess
