Android and Macs
Hi All
I'm trying to connect both Android phones, and Mac laptops, to the VPN network, but having no luck.
Have followed the guides, tried the troubleshooting, but no connections.
I have 14 Windows clients connecting with no issues.
What am I missing, any suggestions are welcome.
THx!

VPN server is running on Win10 PC.
Clients connecting are windows desktops, and laptops. No issues there
Other clients are Mac laptops, and Android phone, no connections working there.
Protocols IPsec/L2TP/OpenVPN/MS-SSTP
OpenVPN ports 443,1194,1195
I'm following the tutorials
thx

Re: Android and Macs
What clients are you using on win clients?
SSTP or official client?

Tried with the builtin client on a Mac, and a app called SoftEtherGUI

Re: Android and Macs
Windows built in clients support both l2tp and sstp.
Please open network connections and find out what it is actually using.
Mac supports l2tp but not SSTP.
Have you enabled l2tp over ipsec in softether server?

netstat -ab shows listening ports
443/500/992/1194/1195/1701//1900/4500/5555
yes l2tp/ipsec is enabled
connections on macs, are configured with l2tp

Re: Android and Macs
You did not answer my question.
Please find out what protocol the win client is using.
In the network connections, find the vpn connection and go to its properties. When it’s connected you should see the protocol name.

Re: Android and Macs
If you use softether client on windows, then the protocol is softether vpn, not l2tp, nor sstp.
Then please try win built-in client with l2tp or sstp, see if they work.
You can't compare softether protocol to mac and android which do not support that protocol. Comparing different protocols does not make sense.

Re: Android and Macs
the builtin windows client is not connecting either L2TP or SSTP
haven't tried connecting with the firewall down, just to check if it works with it down. Might have to open specific ports.
users are connected the the server at the moment, i can try that later.

Re: Android and Macs
turned off the Windows firewall, put the PC in the DMZ zone, and still no go.
unfortunately I can't reboot either the PC and/or router, to make sure firewall is off, too many users connected.
can only reboot on the weekend, so will try that in a cpl of days.
