Slow VPN speed and Internet routing

Good day all

Hoping someone can help provide some help regarding the following situation.
I'm still very new with using this software.

I have four external PCs that I need to connect to with the VPN and send daily updates to via GIT.
The client software is installed on each PC, mine as well, and the Server software is installed on our Web Server.
All clients connect to the server with no problems.

Currently the VPN is connected and I can send files with no problem, but one of the main issues that I'm having is, it seems that Internet traffic is also been routed through the VPN, and when the VPN is connected, my download speed is limited to only 1Mb/s.
Why this speed limitation? Is there a way to increase it, or maybe send all internet traffic through the physical adapter so I don't have this limitation?

If I have this limitation on my end, I can only assume that the clients are having the same problem?

I've tried to look through the forum, but haven't really seen any topics relating to my issue.

You need a split tunnel.
