Hi all,
I setup Softether and it is really easy compared to other VPN servers. So good work.
I am running Softether in a Debian VM and have actually 2 questions:
1. CPU usage: I have constant CPU usage of 3% even if nothing happens. Is this normal, actually the VPN should wait for requests like apache?
2. If the hosts CPU and network ressources are highly used the vpnserver process consumes much more ressources (see screenshot). Could be perhaps about the Soft IRQ because of the high load on the host nnetwork? But seems strange, because only vpnserver process goes crazy up to 50%.
Cheers,
Nils

Re: CPU usage
CPU usage depends on your VPN configuration and hardware etc.
If you enable localbridge and SecureNAT at the same time, packets will be loop and CPU usage become hight.
