I stop vpnserver (no init.d), and rm-f /usr/local/vpnserver
When I reinstall my original config file magically reappears in /usr/local/vpnserver, even before I run make. Deleting it does not work, as on starting it is remade.
This is clearly a useful "feature" when updating, but I really want to start completely again with new configuration. There must be a file outside /usr/local/vpnserver that I need to delete. I cannot find it. Can you let us know, and it needs to be put in the manual.

you sure it's not just the factory default?
in any case, you can always restore to factory default via the server manager by going into "edit config"

thanks. Does that give you the option of what type of server you want to configure? I am missing seeing that scree which you get on a new install
