How to force SoftEther to distribute a different IP Address

Post by luis.nunes » Fri Nov 13, 2020 10:38 am

I'm setting up SoftEther Remote Acess VPN at work, and everything is working as it should so people can access the File Server and get what they need.

I'm not very experienced network wise, but the thing is when i connect to my workplace via softether VPN, i'm given a 192.168.1.xxx ip address, which turns out to be the same network address the company uses and it makes sense, since i want to be in the same LAN.

People connecting to the VPN will be assigned an IP via DCHP automatically, so, it will never assign an IP which is already in use, but what if for example all my 192.168.1.xxx ips were in use?

How can I force SoftEther to assign an IP like 10.0.0.1 when connected to the VPN but still able to communicate with the 192.168.1.xxx network?

Apreciate some feedback
