It's wrong to say VPN Bridge serves no purpose as a stand-alone program.
https://www.softether.org/4-docs/1-manual/9/9.4
Reasons:
1.A PC in a LAN which do not need to access a actual remote VPN Server virtual HUB[cascade connection in virtual HUB BRIDGE should be none and empty],it just need very low level and basic Layer 2 functions within that LAN ONLY. [You can optionally Enable / Disable Virtual NAT/DHCP on this local softether local hub BRIDGE]
2.In windows,if you do not want to interact too much with the buggy windows local connection manager using windows network bridge API,it's 100% fine to replace layer 2 functions SOLELY with softether bridge software ALL TOGETHER,which means eliminating all the need to rely on windows network bridge API,it just very low level layer 2 function inside your LAN network.
3.After all layer 2 is just layer 2,no IP addressing is ever handled at all,Layer 2 deals with MAC addresses ONLY,so softether bridge requires zero configs if you just want to use your local PC to acts as a low level Layer 2 device in LAN

Don't get tricked into configuring complicated windows services like NIC teaming windows bridge netsh etc and so on
SoftEther VPN Bridge.exe is ALL it needed , just install it and run and it's done!
So easy to understand and not misleading correct?
