You must manually connect using the softether client made for linux. It is a command-line utility and difficult to use. I suggest you use another VPN instead. Bitmask works great, and Psiphon is excellent on Android and Windows.
Softether / VPN Gate is pure crap for Linux clients, and the developers know it and are in no hurry to make a better client.

Can someone who understands the question reply please?
I also have a VPN service running on linux, and i'd like to share my VPN server with the VPNGate service,
however the linux version does not show a TAB to to configure and join VPNGate.

Here is the answer: automated server sharing is not available on machines running Linux. Some time, far, far into the future, the developers may prioritize support for full client and server functions on non-Windows systems.
Until then, the typical response is "just use Windows." Sounds quite a bit like "let them eat cake." Cheers, brothers.
